The OCP Group was founded in Morocco in 1920 as the Office Chérifien des Phosphates. We started with a single mine at Khouribga. Our operations now span five continents, and we work throughout the value chain, from mining and manufacturing to education and community development.
The OCP Group's sites:
1921
: Start of mining in Boujniba in the vicinity of Khouribga and
phosphate export from
the
port of Casablanca.
1931 : Mining begins of a second deposit in Youssoufia.
1965
: Beginning of phosphate valorization and diversification with the
opening of the first OCP
chemical
complex in Safi.
1980
: Opening of the Benguerir Mine.
1986
: Start-up of the sulphuric acid and phosphoric acid production
lines in Jorf Lasfar and the
fertilizer
lines in 1987.
2002
: OCP acquires full stake in Phosboucraâ.
